The UAE celebrates it's 50th National Day this weekend, and there is no better way to embrace the country than to explore it

The UAE is 50! Huge celebrations are expected across the country this weekend as the UAE celebrates its 50th National Day on Thursday 2nd December, 2021.

One of the best ways to celebrate the country is to explore it's endless outdoor activities and so here are my top 5 adventures to embark on in the UAE this weekend.

1. Hike Jebel Jais

Jebel Jais is a wonder for adventures and if it is hiking you crave, there are multiple trails to embark on.

From the Upper Trails to reach the UAE's highest public point to the Lower Trails which provide equally impressive tracks - especially the Samar Trail - this is a mountain which creates the perfect outdoor adventure day out.

3. Explore Khor Fakkan

Khor Fakkan is an adventurers playground and home to the UAE's best summit hike at Al Rabi Tower.

The hike itself is one of the country's best hiking routes with incredible views of the Gulf of Oman, Khor Fakkan and the Hajar Mountains. At the summit you'll find the UAE flag standing proud so the perfect location to visit for National Day.

Whilst in Khor Fakkan, you can also visit Alkhor Kayak, which is a less well known kayaking centre in the UAE.

Whilst many people know about Hatta Kayak and kayaking around the mangroves in Abu Dhabi, you shouldn't overlook Alkhor Kayak. It is not only a great location but the cafe that overlooks the lake is well worth a bite to eat at whilst you soak up the surrounding landscapes.

4. Hike Fossil Rock

Fossil Rock is one of the most visually stunning areas to hike in the UAE and best experienced for sunset.

Less than an hour's drive from Dubai, Fossil Rock is within the Mlieha region and is actually former coral reef, dating back thousands of years. If you time your hike right, you'll reach the west side of the rock just as the sun lowers for spectacular views of the endless desert and sunset in front of you.
